Château le Val is a charming 16th century château; hidden in a green valley filled with flowers and birdsong. The château is situated in the heart of the countryside just outside the village of Brix (5 minutes walking distance). Brix is an ancient village, high upon the hills and once the feudal domain of the Bruces; ancestors of Scotland’s famous king, Robert the Bruce.
Brix , Normandy
In Brix there is a tennis court, a bakery, butchery / delicatessen, post office, medical centre and a chemist. Just outside Brix: riding, riding lessons, some restaurants and a Golf Course (9 holes) . More Golf courses
There is a riding school at 15 km which is informal and western style, very suitable for children and adults and also for those who have no experience at all but are tempted to discover the countryside by horse and passenger cart. For the more experienced rider(s) we are able to organise beach rides. On reservation only and depending on the tide. Les Pieux, Carteret or Réville have lovely beaches for horse riding.

If Europe suffers a heat wave, it would go unnoticed in Normandy. In the house it stays pleasantly cool because of the thick walls and due to the proximity of the sea there are always refreshing breezes. Temperatures are rarely higher than 30 degrees, there is no humid heat and very important, there are no mosquitoes!
